The Deputy Minister of Project Development of the Thermal Power Company, referring to the synchronization of the gas unit of Qeshm Class F power plant, said: “With the aim of implementing peak peak projects this summer, about 2,000 MW will be added to the capacity of thermal power plants.”

 

According to the Mehr news agency, quoting the Ministry of Energy, Hamid Reza Azimi, deputy director of projects for the thermal power company, added: “The capacity of the country’s thermal power plants has reached 70,634 MW with the synchronization of the gas unit of the Qeshm Pasargad combined cycle power plant.”

He continued: So far, 591 thermal power generation units have been built in 130 power plants in the country, of which 67.7% of this capacity belongs to the private sector.

Deputy Minister of Thermal Power Plant Development said: Synchronous 9 new power plants have been done in the country.

He estimated the final efficiency of this combined cycle power plant at about 57% and added: encouraging investment through the non-governmental sector, providing part of the country’s national electricity network demand, helping to increase the stability of the network, increasing electricity generation capacity and creating employment opportunities in the region. Production and reduction of environmental pollution is one of the goals of this project.

 

“The power plant is being built at a cost of 245 million euros,” said the thermal power company’s project development deputy.

 

Azimi continued: “According to the plan, we hope that the steam unit of this power plant will be connected to the national electricity network in September 1403.”
